Can you be king for a day? It appears Kevin Eldredge and Team Relentless can! Tuesday Sept. 11th Kevin and his stunning NXT shatter the fastest Sport Class record by over twenty miles and hour and lay down a qualifying speed of 378.6!!! “Relentless is amazing! She really comes together when you push the speed up”, says Kevin. With the loss of Blue Thunder and Darryl Greenamyer’s problems with their Super Legacy the competition seems to be thinning a little at the top but don’t think for a moment that the New Super Sport Class will be less than exciting. Not to be outdone, Jon Sharp took to a perfect Wednesday morning on the last period to qualify and destroyed Kevin’s freshly minted record by qualifying in Nemesis at 386mph!
The anticipation of the two NXT’s finally getting the opportunity to lock horns is at a fever pitch. The two beautiful NXT’s along with 6 other very motivated pilots will drop the hammer this morning to see how far each pilot can push their machines over the edge.

Darryl Greenamyer and his determined team lead by Andy Chivetta is busy rebuilding their engine and new gearbox to try and get in the hunt by Friday. Rod Van Grote was able to nurse the Legacy around the course enough to qualify but must at least start the race Friday to be able to continue to race the weekend. Team Relentless is closely watching to see if Andy can do the impossible and get this 900hp monster back in the air.

The sleeper in the mix is Mike Dacey and his pumped up Questair Venture. Don’t let his qualifying speed of 337mph fool you. Mike had problems with his boost controller during his qualifying lap and was running with minimal power. The long faces in his camp seemed to be all gone after Mike returned from his test flight last night. Know one knows how fast Mike can push his plane up but one thing is certain, the racing at the top of the Sport Class might be the best Reno has seen for a long time!!!
